introducing THE HOMEBODY DIARIES, a 6-week limited series in which i will be combining my two passions: interior design + home fragrance!
each week will hold a new fragrance feature as well as a mood board dedicated to a home designed by that fragrance!
this week's feature is FRESH APPLE CRISP, a scent that invokes feelings of comfort with a hint of spice and baked apple.
focus on the good stuff.
turning your space into one inspired by fresh apple crisp is the perfect opportunity to bring in focal points that draw inspiration from the star fruit itself: the apple!
by adding in a round table with a pedestal base that mirrors the core, chairs with a curved back that mirrors the slices themselves, and even wall decor that gives the illusion of an apple being cored + sliced, you're paying a brilliant homage to what makes this cozy autumn dessert so delicious!
pair that with elements that draw off of the warm tones in this baked delicacy like camel-colored curtains and a complimentary area rug and you're golden!
+ you can't forget about the accents!
they're what tie the whole thing together, after all!
sticking with the same theme of the focal points (i.e. color scheme, imagery, etc.) + bringing in splashes of those warm tones with various pieces, whether it be tableware, tea towels, coasters, etc. can really help you complete the whole vision!
not only that, but playing off of that apple imagery once again with vases that mimic the apple's overall shape, fruit bowls that mimic the slices, and even lighting that gives the illusion of that apple being prepped and ready for baking is really going to show just how much you love apple crisp + want your home to feel like a big ol' batch of it!
