welcome to the fifth installment of THE HOMEBODY DIARIES, a 6-week limited series in which i will be combining my two passions: interior design + home fragrance!

each week will hold a new fragrance feature as well as a mood board dedicated to a home designed by that fragrance!

this week's feature is OCTOBER NIGHTS, a scent that takes you back to nostalgic halloween nights with hints of fig and pumpkin.

focus on the good stuff.

turning your space into one inspired by october nights is the perfect opportunity to really lean into the elements that remind you of the halloweens from your childhood.

i'm not talking the animatronic-riddled halloweens that we have today. i'm talking the halloweens when decorations were simple and to the point and made a point.

focusing on things like furniture that looks like dracula's castle/a graveyard fence, spooky doormats, decorations that feature spiderwebs, etc. is how you bring back those nostalgic vibes that we all know and love!

+ you can't forget about the accents!

they're what tie the whole thing together, after all!

continuing on the whole on-the-nose thing (i mean, it IS halloween-inspired), adding in those extra elements of skeletons, ghosts, spooky accents, etc. is how you can really round things off for the perfect spooky-fied space!

think old stories and movies that can inspire you to bring in vibes that feel like they're straight out of an october 31st from years past.

and remember: just because it doesn't immediately scream "spooky" doesn't mean that it won't become spooky when paired with the proper elements.

+ there you have it: a home designed by october nights!

(and, of course, don't forget to bring in the scent itself, available here on our website, as well as with our in-person stockists!)

we'll see you next monday with another scent + another guide to a home inspired by fragrance! 👋🏻 stay tuned!
